About The Belonging Blueprint

Belonging is more than an HR buzzword or a fleeting trend; it’s the heart of every thriving organization. High-performing organizations recognize that their workforce is their greatest asset and create structures to support, include, and develop everyone. When employees feel isolated, unappreciated, or treated unjustly, engagement and innovation stall and turnover costs soar. That’s why understanding the dynamics of belonging in a diverse world is not optional—it’s essential.

In The Belonging Blueprint, organizational performance expert Maria Morukian sparks a new conversation about creating better working environments. She offers talent development leaders and managers:

  • An uplifting, practical guide to the universal human need to belong
  • Real-world examples and an easy-to-follow framework for building diverse teams that operate on trust, interdependence, and a shared purpose
  • Proven assessment tools and a new maturity model to help any organization create a successful culture of belonging and level the playing field

About DEI for Trainers

When done well, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training creates space for courageous conversations that acknowledge hard truths around systemic inequities and explores topics that touch on people’s vulnerabilities in all facets of their lives. For those of you who do this work, there has not been a clear path to follow for making progress. As a DEI trainer, you have forged your own way and learned as you went.

With Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Trainers: Fostering DEI in the Workplace, the need for DEI trainers to go at it alone comes to an end. Expert facilitator Maria Morukian provides the guidance you need to develop the knowledge and skills required for DEI training. Morukian covers the historical underpinnings and rationale for DEI work; takes you through the process of organizational assessment, design, and delivery; and offers strategies for embedding DEI and promoting sustainability through collaborative practices and dialogues, allowing you to develop and understand your own identity lenses and biases. Reflection questions and worksheets are included in every chapter.

Praise for DEI for Trainers

I am not a DEI trainer, but I am very interested in expanding my DEI knowledge. I was excited when I found this book I think it's a must-read even if you do not work in the DEI field. I feel that I can apply the tools that I learned from this book in my personal and professional life to have more meaningful conversations and welcome different perspectives. This book is now in my go-to library, next to Adam Grant, Susan Cain, and Daniel Pink.

Maria Morukian's comprehensive guide to implementing DEIA in the REAL world is a welcome relief. The sections of background, cross-cultural implementation issues, and doing your own work are a huge plus. For less experienced trainers, she builds a needs assessment and design process that is easy to follow, yet detailed and specific enough to provide real guidance. All through the book, her experience and humanist approach shines through. This is a wonderful resource from someone who really knows what she is talking about.
