DEIB PRACTITIONER DEVELOPMENT
DEIB Ambassador Certification Program
Our highly acclaimed train-the-trainer DEIB certificate program is intended to provide individuals with the skills and tools to lead DEIB dialogues and learning activities. Based on the best-selling book Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Trainers: Fostering DEI in the Workplace (ATD, 2022), this training program offers an intensive and robust learning experience for aspiring practitioners and trainers to develop the foundational skills necessary to lead learning experiences on DEIB.
Participants will gain skills for facilitating DEIB training, explore practices for navigating challenging conversations, and develop practices for embedding DEI into the broader organizational learning culture.
The Ambassador program includes:
- Pre-program self assessment to determine a baseline of strengths and areas for deeper learning and development
- Three-day in-person program that combines self-discover, exposure to DEIB learning content and exercises, and real-time application leading DEI training exercises and dialogues
- Post-program learning resources and facilitation guides to support ongoing development
- Option for discounted 1:1 coaching with one of a DEIB expert facilitator to continue to develop individual skills
Rethinking Allyship and Advocacy for Systemic Change Series
This virtual eight-week, cohort-based intergroup dialogue experience brings together DEIB practitioners to learn with and from one another. Participants explore the complexities of historic and systemic inequality and their impact on organizations. They engage in deep reflection of their own experiences and identities related to core identity dimensions, exploring issues of societal power and unearned advantage/disadvantage. They observe how they and others in their organizations may be unintentionally reinforcing practices and norms that uphold the status quo they are trying to change. They also determine concrete strategies for overcoming resistance, pushing past plateaus in progress, and maintaining resilience through adversity and turmoil.
EMBER: A Community of and for Equity Change Agents
Did you know that the embers of a fire burn hotter than the flames? Embers not only ignite the flames to make the fire burn brightly. They sustain the heat long after the flames have flickered out. When it comes to overcoming systemic inequality and injustice, we need to be able to ignite the flames but also to tend to the embers and sustain the heat.
DEIB is deeply rooted in a sense of community. Yet DEIB professionals often find themselves isolated, siloed, and marginalized from playing a significant role to drive systemic change. As the number of people committed to DEIB continues to grow despite backlash and resistance, there is a pressing need to build a vibrant, purpose-driven community of, and for, aspiring and experienced practitioners.
What is Ember?
Ember is designed for those who seek more than the bare bones train-the-trainer or certificate program, who are deeply invested in evolving DEIB and want to guide their institutions through sustainable transformation. Participants joining Ember will become part of a cohort of change agents representing a variety of industries and fields. The program is intended to be rigorous and intensive. In addition to exploring and applying research-based DEIB practices, participants will engage in deep self-reflection and provide peer coaching to explore promising practices.
Ember is a partnership between MSM Global Consulting and True Change Associates . Our two companies are dedicated to helping individuals and organizations navigate the complexities of lasting systemic change and infuse DEIB principles and practices at the institutional level.
