Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council Development

A DEI Council is an internal organizational structure whose purpose is to support and direct an organization’s DEI initiatives. The Council works closely with organizational leadership to ensure that diversity and inclusion efforts are aligned with overall strategic goals of the organization and lead to sustainable culture change. MSM Global has helped numerous organizations stand up a DEI Councils. We will work with you to develop a selection process, launch the Council, facilitate training for Council members, and facilitate ongoing planning and implementation of DEI activities.

The Company

The Challenge

In an industry that is often highly competitive and transactional, Spitzer’s new leadership team wanted to transform the company culture to center on emotional intelligence, dignity, and respect for all employees and customers. The company had not engaged in significant leadership or management training and had a relatively new leadership and management team working together for the first time.

The Solution

Over the course of two years, MSM Global Consulting worked with Spitzer to engage in an organizational culture change and leadership development initiative. We provided a solution, providing executive coaching for all interested general managers and leadership team members. Using an emotional intelligence 360-degree assessment tool, we created a baseline from which to gauge each leader’s strengths and areas for development. We built personal leadership development plans for twenty-five leaders and managers across the company. MSM Global also facilitated sessions at Spitzer’s quarterly leadership retreats, focusing on strategic organizational culture change and leadership skills training to help bring about the future vision for Spitzer.

The Result

Several leaders continued with coaching throughout the two-year period and beyond. Some of those leaders made major changes to their leadership style, which led to significant profit increases at their stores. Additionally, the leadership team crafted and implemented a strategic plan with measurable goals for driving a people-focused organization.
