An assessment and measurement of an organization’s EDI initiatives are critical components of the culture change process. These baseline assessments often yield data to identify the specific challenges the organization faces and provides a path for generating commitment and determining next steps for leadership or Diversity and Inclusion Council. MSM Global Consulting will conduct a needs assessment that may include a combination of benchmarking data, interviews, focus groups, and surveys to gauge perspectives and experiences around diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to provide data-based recommendations for your organization.

The Company

The Challenge
MSM Global engaged with Cold Chain Technologies, a leading global provider of thermal packaging solutions. As part of its commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, the company decided to embark on a company-wide EDI initiative, beginning with a needs assessment. The company has facilities in multiple locations across the U.S. as well as a global business model. Its workforce includes employees from a variety of different races, ethnicities, and national origins. It was imperative that we gathered insights and perspectives from all stakeholders, some of whom did not speak English as their first language and many who worked night shifts in manufacturing facilities.
The Solution
MSM Global conducted a series of interviews with employees across the Cold Chain Technologies, working with employees and their supervisors to accommodate their work schedules. We distributed the surveys both online and in print using self-addressed, postage stamped envelopes to encourage participation and returns. We translated the surveys into several languages to accommodate different linguistic needs. We worked with the company’s leadership to communicate this effort to the entire workforce and the importance of hearing from everyone. MSM Global’s research team did a deep analysis in which we identified overall themes across the company as well as variances across diverse stakeholder groups.
