The organization not only serves a globally diverse population, it also has an incredibly diverse workforce. One team at the institution was particularly interested in building team cohesion and helping its leadership build skills to manage the needs of its diverse employees, who not only hailed from different global cultures but had diverse communication styles and needs.
The Solution
MSM Global conducted individual interviews with each member of the team to ascertain their individual perspectives and needs. We worked with leadership to identify key goals to address, and we have since been providing coaching services to the team’s management. Using assessment instruments including the Intercultural Conflict Styles Inventory and Emotional Intelligence 360, MSM Global has supported the team’s leadership in developing awareness and skills to manage needs and navigate challenges. MSM Global also facilitated dialogue sessions with the whole team to discuss their concerns and conflicts and have candid conversations to build a stronger, more culturally competent team.

The team’s manager received significantly higher performance ratings and 360-degree reviews. Moreover, the manager has requested to continue coaching because the results were significant. The team has reported high levels of satisfaction in their relationship and communication with one another and with their manager.
